 In Memoriam: Mitch Cramer December 5, 1948August 16, 2024

A talented artist and a devoted and innovative teacher of the arts, Mitch Cramer passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024. He was best known to NYTTS members over the years from our Annual Turtle and Tortoise Shows and the NYTTS booth at the Parks Departments Urban Wildlife Appreciation Day events, where he frequently helped field turtle questions for the public.

In Memoriam: Paul Raiti February 16, 1952July 10, 2022

Dr. Paul Raiti (Greenwich, Connecticut) passed away at the age of 70 on Sunday, July 10, 2022, after a prolonged illness. He was highly regarded by many NYTTS members who relied on his veterinary services. He is survived by his wife Renie and his daughter Tara. See memorial page.
   Felice Rood, age 88, passed away on October 9, 2021. She was the founder and long-time president of the Sacromento Turtle and Tortoise Club. Felice was well-known throughout the turtle community. See announcement from the STTC, and see her obituary in the Sacramento Bee.
   Fernando Manzano known as Papa Tortuga (see 2-12-2011 presentation) passed away in April 2021, Tecolutla, Veracruz, Mexico.
   Dick Vogt passed away on January 17, 2021 in Manaus, Brazil, at the age of 71.

In Memory of Don Riemer Long-time friend of NYTTS and contributing author to its publications in the 1980s and 90s, Donald N. Riemer, 78, died of cardiac arrest on June 13, 2012. He was a professor at Rutgers University where he conducted research and taught courses related to aquatic plants.
