New York City is home to wide abundance of wildlife. From falcons and salamanders to deer and seals (and of course, turtles), wildlife viewing opportunities exist year-round in all of our parks and beaches. Urban Wildlife Appreciation Day is sponsored by the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation and the Urban Park Rangers.

As it has for many years, NYTTS will participate again in this event. Exhibits will include squirrels, raccoons, coyotes, skunks, eagles, live birds of prey, and of course, turtles provided by NYTTS.

Join us and volunteer to talk about turtles to the public. Activities officially begin at 12:00, but please join us early to help with the setup. If you would like to bring some turtles, or have questions, please write qanda@nytts.org. See a slide show of the event in 2023.

For directions see map below: by subway, take the Broadway No. 1 train to 215th Street and walk up to 218th. Turn left (west) and follow into the park.
