Indotestudo hatchling: One of two new additions to the TCEP in late April. It may be the first of this species to be born in captivity in Vietnam. The hatchling’s mother was on her way to China in August 1998 when rangers in Ninh Binh seized the illegal shipment. Two eggs were laid December 9, 1999, and incubated for 139 days before before the hatchlings finally arrived safely in a kinder gentler world.
