A long life
On average, most turtles live 25–40 years of age.  However, some turtles can live more than 100 years!

(Here the children and turtle great each other, the children bowing to show respect for one who is elderly.)

How old am I?
The age of a young turtle can be estimated by counting the number of growth rings on their shell.

Male or female?
For some species, males can be distinguished from females by their longer thicker tails or their indented plastron (bottom of their shell).

Turtles lay eggs
Most of turtle mothers lay between 2 to 4 eggs each year.  The eggs are usually buried in lose soil.  After about 90 days, the eggs hatch!
