Status of the Tortoises and Freshwater Turtles of Colombia

        ABSTRACT:  This paper examines the 25 species of Colombian turtles (excluding marine species), their distribution, our knowledge of their natural history, their commercial exploitation, as well as some of their conservation-related problems.  Updated information is used to propose changes in the legal conservation status of several species.
